Description: Depression has worsened

More info: The client’s depression has worsened.

DRS-AI evaluates the client’s level of depression, where 0-2 = No signs of depression 3-6 = Mild depression 7-10 = Depression 11-14 = Severe depression

The assessment considers

  • negative talk
  • irritability
  • fears
  • expressing concerns
  • sadness
  • tearfulness

DRS-AI scores are usually close to DRS scores (see https://academic.oup.com/ageing/article/37/1/51/25226), but may differ in some situations because DRS-AI relies on the client’s daily care notes interpreted by artificial intelligence.

  1. Cause of depression

Is something happening in the background, for example the death of a loved one?

  1. Is the client suicidal or a danger to others?

  2. Medication

Does the client use medication that can affect mood?

  1. Changes in health status

Is the depression related to a deterioration in health?

  1. Previous history of depression

Has the client previously had episodes of depression or medication for it?
