Type: INDEX_CPS

Description: Cognition has weakened

More info: The client’s cognition has weakened.

CPS-AI estimates the client’s cognition, where 0 = No impairment 1 = Possible mild impairment 2 = Mild impairment 3 = Moderate impairment 4 = Moderate/severe impairment 5 = Severe impairment 6 = Very severe impairment

The assessment takes into account

  • the ability to understand speech and be understood
  • possible confusion
  • memory
  • decision-making ability
  • the need for assistance with eating

CPS-AI scores are usually close to CPS scores (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8297343/), but may differ in some situations because CPS-AI relies on the client’s daily care notes interpreted by artificial intelligence.
