Description: Repeated unnecessary emergency calls

More info: The client has made frequent unnecessary emergency calls.

  • Talk with the client to understand the reason for the unnecessary calls.
  • Is the high number of unnecessary calls temporary or likely to continue? For example, has the client returned home from a long hospital stay or institutional care?
  • If the calls are due to feelings of insecurity or loneliness, can suitable services be offered?
  • If the calls are due to impaired cognition, does the client know how to use the emergency phone, or should it be removed?
